On the 6 December Gibraltar welcomed its new Governor, Sir James Dutton to the country.
Sir James Dutton along with Lady Dutton continued the long tradition of new Governors arriving in Gibraltar aboard Royal Navy vessels. They arrived aboard the flagship of the British Royal Navy, the HMS Bulwark.
Sir James and Lady Dutton were greeted by the Chief Minister of Gibraltar and his wife along with the Royal Gibraltar Regiment who fired a 17-gun salute.
Sir James traveled to Parliament where he met members of both sides of the House. Outside of Parliament, the Port Sergeant handed the Keys of Gibraltar to the new Governor.
