Gibraltar and Coronavirus COVID-19 Update.

On 12 March 2020, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the Corona virus a “pandemic”. Europa Trust Company Ltd is taking this opportunity to provide information regarding the jurisdiction of Gibraltar and how services could be affected.

Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar continues to plan and prepare for a possible large-scale outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19 in the jurisdiction. A number of strategies have been implemented in line with the best estimates and projections of Gibraltar’s Public Health professionals. These include closure of service counters at government departments, as well as limited access to Companies House.

Subject to these restrictions, The Europa Group is currently operating normal service levels. The Europa Group has implemented a variety of business continuity strategies, however, given that this is a developing situation, we may be required to operate reduced service levels at very short notice.

The Government of Gibraltar’s measures to reduce any spread of the virus include:

• Core Group of Policymakers to meet daily.
• Companies House Gibraltar not accepting paper documents.
• Gibraltar Post Office not accepting cash and all Government cash counters will stop operating.
• Schools will remain open.
• Bus services in Gibraltar to be reduced.
• Advice to people to avoid religious services and ceremonies, large groups and social occasions.
• Emergency hospital surgery will continue, whilst urgent surgery will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Daily situation updates to be provided to all Gibraltar mobiles via WhatsApp.
